The California Preliminary Administrative Credential Examination (CPACE) is designed to assess knowledge of California school law, finances, organization, and English learner student needs for candidates planning a career in school administration.  The exam is comprised of two components: CPACE-Written and CPACE-Video.  The CPACE-Written test includes 70 multiple choice questions and four constructed-response items, including one case study which require candidates to answer problems from four major areas: Visionary and Inclusive Leadership, Student Learning, Systems for Capacity Building, and Resource Management and Educational Law. The CPACE-Video test includes a context form to describe the activity, a 7-10 minute video recording, and a reflection form.
