Note: Per the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, the Reading Instruction Competence Assessment (RICA) has been retired and will no longer be offered after June 30, 2025. Candidates now have two options: take a Commission-approved performance assessment that includes literacy instruction or take the Foundations of Reading Test (FoRT). Learn about the FoRT Study Guide.
