Planning Your Foundations of Reading Test Registration
Computer-based testing is administered at test centers nationwide. Alternatively, at home testing is delivered remotely under the supervision of an online proctor. While it might initially seem an advantage to take the test from your home or workplace rather than traveling to a testing center, there are several factors to consider when deciding what scenario to choose.
At home testing has several technical requirements you will want to verify you have before registering. It is possible to run an equipment readiness check to ensure that your operating system is compatible. Additionally, there are requirements for your environment and testing space that need to be adhered to such as no one else may be present in the room or enter the room for the duration of the exam otherwise your exam will be terminated and/or your results invalidated.
Before you register for your exam, read our free study guide to learn more about the content of each section.
Please select your state to view a list of Foundations of Reading testing locations near you. Note
that locations may change and that not all testing sites are available for all exams and
dates.
IMPORTANT: Please do NOT go to a testing center until you have registered
for the exam and scheduled your appointment. To register and schedule an appointment, and
to confirm locations and availability, please visit the
official Foundations of Reading testing service website.
