The TExES Science of Teaching Reading (STR) (293) Test is designed to ensure that Pre-K-6 candidates possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective reading instruction.
The written exam covers 4 domains: Reading Pedagogy, Reading Development: Foundational Skills, Reading Development: Comprehension, and Analysis and Response – Written Response.
The TExES STR exam is currently available year-round by appointment in computer-based format at testing centers in Texas as well as nationwide.
